BallotReady

About Us

At BallotReady, we believe that a strong democracy is built on transparent information. Our mission is to empower every citizen to take meaningful action at all levels of government.

Our vision

We envision a world where all people can fully participate in civic life, armed with comprehensive, accurate, and nonpartisan information about their democracy.

Our journey

Founded in 2015, BallotReady began with a simple yet powerful goal: to help voters make informed decisions on their entire ballot. Since then, we've expanded our mission to encompass:

  • Voter registration
  • Polling place information
  • Resources for running for office
  • Tools for contacting elected officials
  • Connections to grassroots organizations for year-round civic engagement

Today, we're proud to help tens of millions of people each year take informed action in their democracy.

What sets us apart

Data is at the heart of everything we do. Our dedicated research team works to provide the most comprehensive information on ballots, elections, and elected officials nationwide. This includes extensive research on judges, cities, county commissions, and school boards, and more, direct data collection from local election offices, and a rigorous vetting process to ensure accuracy and nonpartisanship

We're committed to transparency and accuracy. Our team spends thousands of hours reading statutes, tracking court cases, sending faxes, and filing FOIA requests to gather the most up-to-date and reliable information.

Join us in strengthening democracy

Whether you're preparing to vote, considering running for office, or looking to engage more deeply with your elected officials, we want to provide you with the tools and information you need so that together, we can build a more informed, engaged, and empowered democracy.
