Get StartedShall the Board of County Commissioners of Flathead County, Montana (the "County"), be authorized to sell and issue general obligation bonds of the County for the purpose of providing funds to pay costs of designing, constructing, equipping, and furnishing aa new Flathead County Public Safety Facility to house the County jail and Sheriff's Department to be located at 225 Snowline Lane, Kalispell, Montana, or other acceptable site in the County, and to pay costs associated with the sale and issuance of the bonds, such bonds to be sold and issued in one or more series in the aggregate principal amount of up to One Hundred Five Million and No/100 Dollars ($105,000,000.00), to bear interest at rates to be determined at the time of the sale, and to be payable semiannually, during a term as to each series of bonds of not more than twenty (20) years? If the above proposition passes and the bonds are issued in one series in the total principal amount of $105,000,000 for a 20-year term, based on the estimated taxable value of the County, the County estimates the property taxes on a home with an assessed market value for tax purposes of $100,000 would increase by approximately $11.13 in the first year, of $300,000 would increase by approximately $33.38 in the first year, and of $600,000 would increase by approximately $76.72 in the first year. An increase in property taxes may lead to an increase in rental costs.
