Parishwide School Board Proposition - Sales Tax Renewal

Shall the Parish School Board of the Parish of East Feliciana, State of Louisiana (the "School Board"), under the provisions of Article VI, Section 29 of the Constitution of the State of Louisiana of 1974 and other constitutional and statutory authority, be authorized to continue to levy and collect the tax of one percent (1%) (the "Tax") (estimated $2,450,000 for one year), upon the sale at retail, the use, the lease or rental, the consumption and storage for use or consumption, of tangible personal property and on sales of services in the Parish of East Feliciana, State of Louisiana (the "Parish"), for an additional period of ten (10) years, commencing January 1, 2027, with the net proceeds of the Tax heretofore or hereafter collected (after paying reasonable and necessary costs and expenses of collecting and administering the Tax) to be used as follows: (i) ninety-one percent (91%) of the proceeds for the purpose of paying salaries and benefits for all employees of the school system of the Parish and (ii) nine percent (9%) of the proceeds for the purpose of maintaining and operating public schools in East Feliciana Parish?
