Get StartedShall the Law Enforcement District for the Parish of Ouachita, State of Louisiana (the "District") be authorized to renew and continue to levy and collect a tax of six tenths of one percent (.6%) (the "Tax"), previously authorized at an election held on December 10, 2016, for an additional ten (10) years beginning January 1, 2027, through December 31, 2036, upon the sale at retail, use, lease or rental, consumption and storage for use or consumption of tangible personal property and on sales of services within the boundaries of the District, (excluding that portion contained within the corporate boundaries of Monroe, West Monroe, Sterlington and Richwood, Louisiana) with collections from the levy of the Tax estimated to be $7,047,811 for one entire year, with the proceeds of the Tax (after paying the reasonable and necessary expenses of collecting and administering the Tax) to be dedicated for the purpose of providing operational costs (including acquisition of equipment) and manpower needs of the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Department?;
