Question 1 - Special One Percent Sales and Use Tax for Educational Purposes

Shall a special one percent sales and use tax for educational purposes be imposed in Banks County for a period not to exceed twenty (20) calendar quarters and for the purpose of raising not more than $38,000,000 of net proceeds by said tax, which shall go to the School District for the purpose of (i) adding to, renovating, modifying, improving, equipping, constructing and demolishing existing school buildings and facilities, transportation facilities, physical education/athletic fields and facilities, classrooms, agricultural facilities and other facilities including but not limited to roof, flooring, asphalt, and HVAC replacement; (ii) acquiring miscellaneous new equipment, fixtures, furnishings for the school district, including information technology equipment, computer hardware and software, safety and security equipment and other school equipment; (iii) acquiring, constructing and equipping new school buildings and facilities useful and desirable in connection therewith, including, but not limited to a College and Career Academy; (iv) acquiring school buses, transportation and maintenance vehicles and other school vehicles; (v) purchasing textbooks including E-books, devices, test prep materials and band equipment; (vi) acquiring any capital property necessary or desirable for the foregoing purposes, both real and personal (together, the "Projects"), the maximum amount to be applied to such Projects not to exceed $38,000,000?
