Question 1 - 1% Educational Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (Esplost)

Shall a one percent sales and use tax for educational purposes be imposed in the Atkinson County School District for a period of time not to exceed 20 consecutive calendar quarters, and for the raising of an estimated amount of $9,500,000 for the purposes of funding the following capital outlay projects: (i) renovate, repair, improve, remodel, furnish, and equip Willacoochee Elementary School, Pearson Elementary School, Atkinson County Middle School, Atkinson County High School, Central Office, Maintenance and Transportation Department buildings, HVAC systems, roofing, athletic facilities, and other infrastructures; (ii) purchase, installation, replacement, and upgrade of school safety and security systems, including cameras, access control systems, secure entryways, communication systems, and related security equipment for school district facilities; (iii) purchase textbooks, curriculum, digital learning resources, instructional materials, and educational software; (v) purchase computer technology equipment, digital learning platforms, interactive boards, cybersecurity systems, network infrastructure, instructional technology, and related equipment; (v) purchase vocational, athletic and physical education equipment, fine arts equipment, band instruments, and food service equipment; (vi) purchase school buses, maintenance and transportation vehicles, and other system vehicles; and (vii) purchase, repair, and installation of playground equipment and outdoor structures at all school facilities?
