I approve a special sales and use tax in the amount of one percent to be imposed in Lancaster County, South Carolina, for not more than 10 years to fund the following projects: For improvements to highways, roads, streets, intersections, bridges, and related transportation improvements within Lancaster County, South Carolina, including, but not limited to the following: Major widenings, including widenings of Highway 521, Henry Harris Road, Barberville Road, and Harrisburg Road $98,000,000 Intersection improvements, including those at Grace Avenue/Bethel Road intersection/fork, US 601/SC 265 intersection, Shiloh Unity Road/SC 522 intersection, Bethel Road/Bethel Boat Landing Road intersection, Old Hickory Road/SC 5 intersection, Shiloh Unity Road/Unity Church Road intersection, Great Falls Hwy/Douglas Road intersection, Steel Hill/Old Hickory Road intersection $38,000,000 Roundabout improvements, including those located at University Drive/Hubbard Drive, Steele Hill Road/Van Wyck Road, Shiloh Unity Road at SC 200, and Shiloh Unity Road/Camp Creek Road $20,000,000 Road resurfacing of approximately 31 county or state-maintained roads, approximately 8 Town of Heath Springs maintained roads, approximately 32 Town of Kershaw maintained roads, and approximately 30 City of Lancaster maintained roads $90,000,000 Greenways and sidewalks in various locations within the County $2,000,000 Right of way acquisition, permitting, and program management and implementation costs $5,000,000 Total project costs: $253,000,000
