Question 1 - One Percent Sales and Use Tax

Shall a special one precent sales and use tax be imposed in the special district of Lincoln County for a period of time not to exceed six years and for the raising of an estimated $7,063,090 for the purpose of: (1) for Lincoln County: $1,412,618 for designated county-wide projects and 80% of the unencumbered proceeds (estimated at $4,520,378) for building construction, renovation, and maintenance; community and recreation projects including construction, and renovation; public safety projects including upgrades and improvements for the Sheriff's Office, Fire Services, Emergency Services and E9-1-1; vehicles and equipment for the Sheriff's Office, Fire Services, Emergency Services, E9-1-1, County Officers, and other Board of Commissioner's departments; and (2) for the City of Lincolnton: 20% of the unencumbered proceeds (estimated at $1,130,094) for water/sewer Infrastructure projects including the construction repair and maintenance of water/sewer infrastructure; vehicles and equipment for public safety, public works, City offices and other City departments; downtown development; community and recreation projects; transportation projects including the construction repair and maintenance of transportation infrastructure; building construction, renovation, and maintenance
