Get StartedShall the previously approved millage authorization in support of funding for the Southwest Michigan Regional Airport Authority, reduced by required millage rollbacks and which will expire in 2026, be renewed and the Township be authorized to levy a new millage of not more than 0.10 mill ($0.10 per $1,000 of State Taxable Value) annually, for a period of ten (10) years, 2027 to 2036, inclusive (the first levy being July 2027 and the last levy being in July 2036), on all taxable property within Royalton Township, Berrien County, Michigan, for the purpose of planning, promoting, acquiring, constructing, improving, enlarging, extending, owning, maintaining, and operating the necessary landing, navigational and building facilities for the Southwest Michigan Regional Airport and the continuation of the Airport Authority, thereby raising an estimated $38,754 in the first year (this is a reauthorization of a millage that was first levied in 2006 and will expire with the 2026 tax levy). To the extent required by law, a portion of the revenues collected from this millage (estimated to be approximately 1.2% in the first year), will be captured by or disbursed to the Berrien County Brownfield Redevelopment Authority.
