Question 2 - Wilcox County ESPLOST Renewal

Shall a one percent sales and use tax for education purposes be reimposed in Wilcox County for no longer than 20 consecutive calendar quarters to raise not more than $7,500,000.00 for the following education purposes and projects, all as more fully described in the Notice of Election: (A) building remodeling projects, bus shop paving improvements, sound system improvements, drainage system improvements, connection of a secondary water source to a school building, and seating upgrades at the football field; (B) improving, acquiring, renovating, reconfiguring, consolidating, developing land for, constructing, consolidating and equipping schools, athletic facilities and/or support facilities as needed to support current and future student enrollment; (C) equipping, improving, replacing, adding to, upgrading, and modifying real and/or personal property, school buildings, athletic facilities and/or support facilities and infrastructure as needed; (D) modernizing technology; acquiring and/or replacing computers and software; technology improvements, safety and security improvements and energy-efficient improvements for schools and facilities all as useful or desired; (E) acquiring and equipping school buses, support vehicles, textbooks, band instruments, kitchen equipment, furnishings and other capital equipment; and (F) payment of a portion of the outstanding general obligation debt previously authorized, incurred and issued in the not-to-exceed principal and interest amount of $5,585,000.
