Question 2 - One Percent Educational Sales Tax

Shall a one percent sales and use tax be imposed in the Lamar County School District for a period of time not to exceed twenty consecutive calendar quarters and for the raising of not more than $24,000,000 for the purpose of (a) retiring general obligation debt of the Lamar County School District previously incurred with respect to capital outlay projects; (b) acquisition, construction, equipping, renovations, and improvements to existing school buildings, including the primary, elementary, middle, and high schools, maintenance facilities, fine arts center, and the central office; (c) acquisition of school buses, transportation vehicles and equipment, and maintenance vehicles; and (d) the acquisition of any property, both real and personal, and equipment necessary in connection with the above described capital outlay projects, including computers and system-wide technology upgrades, athletic facilities and physical education equipment, textbooks, furnishings, band instruments, vocational equipment, and safety and security equipment?
