Question 4 - Road Millage Renewal

This proposal reestablishes the 1.0 mill road improvement millage previously approved by the electors that expires after the December 2026 levy. Specifically, the proposal renews the previously authorized 0.9523 mills and restores the 0.0477 mills rolled back by the Headlee Amendment. Shall the previous voted increase in the tax limitations imposed under Article IX, Sec 6 of the Michigan Constitution in Mancelona Township of 1.0 mills ($1.00 per $1,000 of taxable value), reduced to 0.9523 mills ($0.9523 per $1,000 of taxable value) by the required millage rollbacks, be renewed at and increased up to the original voted 1.0 mills ($1.00 per $ 1,000 of taxable value) and levied for four (4) years, 2027 through 2030 inclusive, for the purpose of providing funds for the construction, improvement, repair and maintenance of public roads within the Township, which 1.0 mills will raise an estimated $143,026 in the first year the millage is levied?
