Get StartedThis proposal will permit the Township to renew and increase the levy up to 2 mills for two (2) years for the purpose of providing funds for the general operation and maintenance of the Almira Township Fire and EMS Department within the territorial limits of Almira Township. Shall the expired previous voted increase in the tax limitation imposed under Article IX, Sec. 6 of the Michigan Constitution in Almira Township, of 1.5 mills ($1.50 per $1,000.00 of taxable value) reduced to 1.4046 mills ($1.40 per $1,000.00 of taxable value) by required Headlee rollbacks, be renewed and further increased up to 2 mills ($2.00 per $1,000.00 of taxable value) and levied for two (2) years, 2027 and 2028 inclusive, for the purpose of providing funds for the general operation and maintenance of the Almira Township Fire and EMS Department? If approved and levied in its entirety, this millage would raise an estimated $508,000.00 in 2027, being the first year the millage is levied.
