Sales and Use Tax Referendum Question - Charlton County - SPLOST Referendum

Shall a special one percent sales and use tax be imposed in the special district of Charlton County for a period of time not to exceed 6 years and for the raising of an estimated amount of Six Million Eight Hundred Thousand Dollars ($6,800,000.00) for the purpose of funding the following projects for Charlton County: (1) Purchase of vehicles and necessary equipment for Charlton County EMS and county-wide Enhanced 911 $1,050,000. (2) Purchase of vehicles and equipment for Charlton County Sheriff’s Office $600,000. (3) Improvement, renovation, and/or construction of Charlton County physical plant, including needed building repairs, construction of fuel shelters, and purchase of equipment, computer software and hardware $400,000. (4) Construction, repair, improvement, and purchase of personal property relating to Charlton County roads and bridges $2,350,000. (5) Improvement and expansion of Charlton County parks and recreation facilities and purchase of major equipment $300,000. (6) Renovation of, repairs and improvements to Charlton County Volunteer Firefighter Stations 1 thru 5 $200,000. (7) Purchase of fire vehicles, breathing apparatus, turnout gear, and other equipment for use by Charlton County Volunteer Firefighters $400,000. And for funding the following projects for the Cities of Folkston and Homeland: (1) Renovation, improvement, expansion and purchase of personal property relating to streets, sidewalks, water and wastewater system and other public facilities in the City of Folkston $1,200,000. (2) Renovation, improvement, expansion and purchase of personal property relating to streets, sidewalks, solid waste disposal, water and wastewater system and other public facilities in the City of Homeland $300,000.
