As climate change continues to worsen, it’s critical that we build more resilient and sustainable communities. On the Compton School Board, we have worked to create green spaces through gardening and sustainable agriculture on our school campuses. We recently opened our first garden at Dominguez High School, as well as at my early education center where I serve as principal within LAUSD. Learn more
In the Assembly, I will support investments in green technology to ensure our communities have clean air and water for years to come. I will also work closely with labor unions to ensure a just transition to a greener economy that protects the livelihoods of working families. Learn more

I believe healthcare is a fundamental right, not a privilege. When I was in college, I lost my healthcare coverage prior to graduation. To this day, too many Californians – especially those in underserved communities – face significant barriers to accessing timely, affordable, and high-quality healthcare. In the Assembly, I will always fight to ensure every Californian can access the care they need without going into debt. Learn more
I’m committed to working closely with impacted communities and law enforcement to combat the rise in hate crimes, specifically African American youth, LGBTQyouth, and foster care youth. We must also confront the unique challenges – by expanding access to affirming healthcare and mental health services, strengthening protections in schools, and addressing economic disparities that create barriers to opportunity. Improving the quality of life for working families in California is a cornerstone of my platform. As the cost of living continues to skyrocket while wages remain stagnant, we need to do more to ensure that working families don’t just get by – but thrive. As the daughter of union members– and a longtime union member myself – I understand the importance of uplifting our workers to ensure they are treated with the dignity they deserve. In the Assembly, I’ll fight to raise wages, improve workplace protections, and expand healthcare and retirement benefits for the workers in our state. Furthermore, I will be an advocate for small businesses to be included in the economic opportunities that government contracting provides throughout our communities. Learn more
Increasing pay for classroom teachers. Learn more
Lastly, I will champion fair hiring, equitable pay, and opportunities for advancement in every workplace – including fighting to end hair-based discrimination that too often targets African American, Asian, Asian Pacific Islander, and Native American workers simply for expressing their identity.
