We must use fiscally sound techniques and set a responsible budget that meets the needs of Milam County without repeating the budget deficits of the last three years. Ensure the Proper Use of Tax Abatements – we must use tax abatements as outlined in the county guidelines to create proven opportunities for job growth and improve production opportunities; not on unproven potential revenue streams which do not meet county guidelines. Learn more
Controlling Property Taxes – we have to take control of the property taxes that have been allowed to skyrocket in the last three years by setting a reasonable tax rate to generate the revenue needed to meet the needs of a fiscally responsible budget. Learn more
