Get StartedI am a firm believer in ensuring equality for all people and stopping any form of discrimination in its tracks. That’s why I will not only be an advocate for women’s rights, but I will also be an ally of the LGBTQ community and will work to advance policies that prevent discrimination and ensure a more just, fair, and equitable California. I will also work to make certain that equal pay for equal work for women and men is a reality in our state. Learn more
At the same time, in order to keep California’s status as the fifth largest economy in the world, we need to make sure that businesses in our state can both function and thrive. Learn more
. From working to invest more in job-training and apprenticeship programs, as well as workforce development, trade and technology training, and more, I’ll also push to advance policies that give workers the resources they need to build the skills needed for the jobs of today and tomorrow. I strongly support ensuring high-quality early education and universal pre-K for all children. As a product of local public schools, I also believe we must invest more in public education so we can reduce classroom sizes which will help students get the attention they need and deserve. With additional investments, we can also help to fund more science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) courses, as well as expand the arts, music and extracurricular activities, along with after-school programs. When it comes to higher education, I strongly support California’s free community college efforts and believe we must make our universities more accessible and affordable for our state’s students. The debate about climate change is over. It’s here, it’s happening, and we as a state, a nation, and as humanity overall, must do more to tackle it. At the same time, too many people across our state and throughout Southern California are exposed to pollution in our air and water. In the State Assembly, I’ll work to protect our environment and address climate change, while safeguarding clean air and clean water for our communities. I believe we can protect and create good jobs, and simultaneously ensure a cleaner, safer environment for all Californians if we work together. Learn more
I agree with President Biden that healthcare is a right — not a privilege. While California has made tremendous strides in expanding access to healthcare, the fact remains that we must continue this work to expand access to affordable care for more people in our state. Moreover, particularly for women, we must protect reproductive healthcare access and rights. I also believe we must lower the cost of prescription drugs as nobody in our community should be forced to choose between paying for healthcare or medicine and putting food on the table for their family. Across our state, the cost of housing has skyrocketed, and if this pace continues, it won’t be sustainable. That’s why in the State Assembly, I’ll work to expand affordable housing so that more Californians can afford a place to call home. I’ll also work to reduce homelessness by advancing compassionate policies like investing in supportive and permanent housing, mental health services, job-training, and more, to provide resources to those in need while helping to get people off the streets and into housing. We need nationwide, comprehensive immigration reform, and we need it now. Too many are still living in the shadows as undocumented individuals who have been living here, working here, while raising and growing a family here. By every measurement, these people are Americans and it’s far past time they are given a pathway to becoming full citizens. In the State Assembly, I will do everything in my power to protect immigrant communities, their rights, and also I’ll be relentless in my advocacy for compassionate immigration reform with a pathway to citizenship. Too many people in our state are struggling because of our aging or non-existing infrastructure. That’s why in the State Assembly, I will work to invest more in infrastructure, from upgrading and expanding mass transit to universal broadband to clean energy technologies, modernizing our transportation hubs, roads and bridges and more. These investments will not only help ensure the long-term competitiveness of our economy and level the playing field for so many disadvantaged communities, but it will also create countless good paying, middle class jobs. I’ll work to ensure livable wages for California’s working people, protect workers' rights and their ability to form or join a union, while also creating more good paying middle class jobs. Learn more
