Criminal Justice / Public Safety

Prosecuting fraud is a legitimate function of government. I certainly believe that these companies should have the right to sell their products. However, I simply believe that they should be required to label their products accurately, rather than falsely claiming that their products are real meat. I believe this bill will help the cattle industry in Kansas, by creating an even playing field and requiring truth in labeling. Learn more

I believe that ending no knock warrants will help both civilians and police officers in Kansas. This bill failed to pass, but I’m hopeful that things will change in the future, and that we will eventually end no knock warrants in Kansas. Learn more

Education

I will continue to advocate education policies which benefit teachers and which focuses on getting more of our education dollars directly into the classroom. Learn more

Guns

I’m a strong supporter of the 2nd Amendment. Learn more

I will always oppose gun control legislation as a state representative, including red flag laws. Learn more

Healthcare

The physician may have been located on the opposite side of the state, and the physician would simply check in with the APRN every few months. In many cases, APRN’s were already practicing independently in all reality, but now they will be able to practice without having to pay a monthly fee to a physician. I believe this will cause more APRN’s to move to Kansas, and this will greatly benefit rural healthcare. Learn more

Immigration

I believe in legal immigration and that we should have a welcoming policy for those who wish to come here legally to pursue the American dream, but we must also follow the rule of law, which includes banning sanctuary cities. Learn more

Social Services

I’m strongly opposed to all corporate welfare and would never vote to send taxpayer money to any corporation. I believe strongly in free markets, that every business should have to survive on their own. Learn more

Taxes / Budget

I believe that we should look through our state budget and eliminate all government programs that involve corporate welfare. Learn more

Our tax relief package didn’t go as far as many people would’ve liked, because Governor Kelly vetoed several bills which contained more tax relief. However, next year we’ll focus specifically on providing more property tax relief for the people of our state. Learn more

Placing a limit on the amount that spending can be increased each year is a good way to promote fiscal responsibility in our state. In the future, I will continue to promote the idea of implementing structural reforms to control state spending and put our state on a solid financial footing. Learn more
