Representative Bridget Malloy Kosierowski introduced groundbreaking legislation for domestic violence victims with House Bill 2047, Domestic Violence – Survivors’ Alternative Sentences Act. Pennsylvania would become the third state, in addition to New York and Illinois, to require that individuals who were survivors of domestic violence at the time of an offense have their history of domestic violence taken into account during sentencing and be provided with shorter sentences or alternative sentences. She believes that everyone should pay their fair share, but she also supports lowering the state’s corporate net income tax rate which at 9.9% is among the highest in the country to lure businesses to our area and to enliven job creation.
