Mass gun violence is now traumatizing the Lone Star State. Mass shootings at military bases, schools, churches, retail stores, and even on the highway have taken too many innocent lives. Texas can remain a “gun-friendly” state AND lead our nation in pursuing common-sense reform. Learn more
Health care is a human right. The goal of the Affordable Care Act was to make health care accessible to everyone, but Texas has refused to expand Medicaid and left millions without insurance. Learn more
We need to continue exploring ways to increase teacher pay to retain experienced and effective teachers and attract highly qualified applicants to the profession. One way to do this is to require school districts to increase advanced degree stipends. I support state standard for masters' degree stipends of all least $2,000 per degree and $5,000 stipend for PhDs. Learn more
