Ranked Choice Voting has been a resounding success in Utah, but our craven legislature has fallen for President Trump and his mad-dog claims about alternative voting processes (see “vote by mail”) and let that experiment expire. As a reasonable person I can compromise on other forms of alternative voting systems. It will take congressional action, but I also favor multimember jurisdictions. All residential zoning must permit multi-family units. Cities should not be allowed to ban affordable housing options, not be allowed to require minimum parking requirements, and not be allowed to exaggerate emergency vehicle demands. The legislature must provide the leadership and mandate because the cities cannot and will not do it on their own. Learn more
