Get StartedChris has supported our Police Officers since before he was on the City Council, and wants to continue to do that as Mayor. In the last couple of year's we were successful in improving the benefits for employees to begin making them comparable with those communities around Blue Springs, but we've been outpaced by pay which has continued to make it difficult to attract and retain employees and police officers. The city recently added cameras in many of our parks and contracted with the Flock camera system to use technology to help in solving and deterring crime. Chris led the effort in the past and will continue to support doing more to keep crime low and Blue Springs safe. Learn more
If we are going to have #morein2024, then we are going to need an Economic Development Policy that is smart and intentional. Recently the city contracted with Retail Strategies to begin a proactive approach to growth and development. Chris supports doing more to have a planning and permitting process that is painless and quick, and codes that allow for easy redevelopment so it's simple to do business in Blue Springs. That way we attract more quality business like Faurecia, Amazon, and PepsiCo, quality redevelopment like Whataburger and Mo'Bettahs, and quality new development of sit down restaurants and retail. Chris agrees with the residents that Infrastructure is an essential function of government. In the last few budgets the City Council has doubled the amount of spending on additional street funding, but more is greatly needed. Additional sidewalks such as Vesper, Walnut, and Duncan Rd going to Woods Chapel, or Pink Hill to 7 Hwy all need funding. Learn more
