I’m in favor of Measure B-22 to increase capital investment in our harbor. Existing market-based revenue is not enough to do the job, and we can’t afford to watch our harbor crumble – it’s the heart of our economy. We must have more foresight and be proactive in finding long-term solutions in the future regarding our most treasured assets. Learn more
We need stable forms of revenue. Right now, we depend on property taxes, transient occupancy taxes, and sales tax for most of the revenue in the general fund. It’s simply not enough to maintain our streets, sidewalks, and harbor. A paid parking program supporting the Waterfront is a good step in the right direction. Learn more
