Property taxes are a burden to all Montanans and need to be frozen at the 2010 assessment level. Some of the specific items tied to property taxes need to be tied to natural resources instead. Income taxes need to freeze as well. Until our State government can control its spending, Montanans shouldn’t have to deal with constantly rising income taxes. Once spending is under control and preferably reduced, tax increases beyond 1% must go to a vote. Income taxes need to be permanently frozen for households where all income earners have transitioned solely to social security income. Learn more
