In June of this year, two State of Maine governmental agencies, the ConnectME Authority and the Maine Department of Economic and Community Development jointly issued a State Broadband Action Plan calling for large amounts of public infrastructure investment to provide high speed broadband in rural areas of Maine. While the work represented in these studies needs careful and thorough examination and consideration before being translated into State Action, it is clear that we must find ways to make large investments in Maine's future. It will ultimately be the responsibility of the Maine Legislature to agree upon the right solutions and to avoid inaction because of an inability to agree on anything. Learn more
