We need a lot more housing, and a lot less red tape. Like the rest of California, we have an affordable housing crisis. But we can’t solve our housing deficit through more urban sprawl. We need to build truly affordable housing downtown and near transit, so that we stop creating more and more traffic. As a Planning Commissioner, George has seen firsthand how the bureaucratic process stifles the housing we need – it used to take less than a month to get a permit, but now it takes a year on average.
