Get StartedWomen should be free to make healthcare decisions with their healthcare provider without government interference. Abortions are healthcare that can be necessary to reduce the risk of harm to the pregnant individual. The proven effective methods of reducing abortions are: better health education, better pre and post natal care, and better social support nets for young families. Each of these helps everyone in the community and doesn’t remove anyone’s rights. Learn more
We’re people and we deserve all the same human rights as the cis-het population. Gender affirming care is life saving healthcare. All loving couples deserve the right to marry, adopt children, and be recognized as spouses. Learn more
Rural America lacks the resources to have specialty teams to deal with mental health issues and too often the local law enforcement is placed in a situation they aren’t properly trained for. Improved training in recognizing medical or mental health issues and deescalating those situations safely should be a core part of police training. Holding police officers accountable for gross negligence needs to become the norm. Learn more
Rural EMS agencies and Fire Departments are facing a crisis of funding and staffing. Soon rural America will call 911 and there will not be anyone coming to help. Medicaid funding for EMS is insufficient to properly fund the existing system and needs to be increased, not cut like the Republicans are doing, along with other stabilizing funding methods. Fire departments need stabile funding to cover operations and staffing, not just grant money for equipment. Police training needs to be revamped to reflect the reality of the mission. Learn more
Liberty and Justice for All. Everyone in America deserves equal justice including politicians and the ultra wealthy. Corruption should be investigated and harshly dealt with no matter who the perpetrator is. Due process is a right that all humans deserve equal access to. Learn more
Agriculture is the life blood of America and especially the rural communities. Agriculture that has diverse ownership by the residents of the community is vital to the survival of rural America and important to the national security of the nation. Our food supply shouldn’t be consolidated into a few giant multinational agricorporations. Only locally owned farms have a vested interest in supporting the local community, being good stewards of the land and other natural resources. Farm subsidy programs play a vital role in supporting local farms, providing food for our school children, providing nutritional support for pregnant folks and infants, and showcasing the rural American spirit of supporting a neighbor in need by providing food for some of the neediest people in the world. The right to bear arms to defend one’s self is a basic human right that comes with a responsibility to exercise that right safely. Firearm safety training and education should be as readily available as firearms themselves. Current firearm laws need to be equitably enforced prior to enacting new laws. There are many issues that affect violence in America that are also human rights issues: access to healthcare, including mental healthcare, accessible housing, food security, clean air and water, equitable policing, and a quality education. Securing these human rights for everyone should be a first priority before restricting the right to defend one’s self. Learn more

Every major medical association supports patient centered LGBTQ care using evidence based guidelines Legislative efforts to restrict reproductive and LGBTQ healthcare cause harm to all patient populations. Everyone in America deserves equal access to healthcare. The current system was broken before the Republican cuts and will be hard pressed to survive the current administration. The system needs to be rebuilt in an equitable fashion that can provide quality care to every American. Healthcare shouldn’t be a for profit industry. Learn more
Poorly planned tariffs and unnecessary trade wars only hurt rural America. Immigrant/migrant workers are a vital part of agriculture. There needs to be a pathway to allow these faithful workers to obtain American citizenship as a reward for helping feed America and the world. Learn more
There isn’t an immigration or immigrant crisis in America, there is a crisis with our ability and willingness to establish a system that can process the needed number of immigrants in a timely fashion. Immigrants are a supporting pillar of American society who should be welcomed and protected as they become established members of American society. Current immigrants need a path to citizenship to allow them to be rewarded for their hard work and to move them from the shadows to tax paying citizens. Learn more
Rural America has suffered from neglect by politicians for far too long. We can be a vibrant part of America but we’ve been handicapped by the system that repeatedly fails us. Our infrastructure needs to be maintained and upgraded to continue to thrive. Fund repairing our crumbling roads and bridges, upgrade the electrical grid to support modern industry and improve reliability, repair our failing water and sewer to protect our health and environment, bring high speed internet to every home, and support the rural post offices that we rely on.
