Teen suicide is devastating for everyone. Families, friends, communities all feel the pain when one of our young decides to take their own life. We need to elevate this issue and start looking at how we can reduce and hopefully eradicate this scourge on our communities. The internet is as much a part of each of our lives as any other service. Most of us carry access to almost all the knowledge in the world with a few taps on a phone screen. That access and the speed of that access can mean the difference between an A and a C on a paper, earning a job interview, or even having the ability to receive a medical diagnosis from a doctor via an online examination of symptoms. Now more than ever, the internet needs to be treated as a utility by our society, with established minimum service level requirements so that no one is left behind through lack of service.
