Jason will Repeal SB1 (2024). This bill created a state-wide monopoly for businesses providing electricity. This monopoly has naturally with no competitors raised rates and charged "distribution" fees to provide power to residential customers. Jason wants to ensure that every person in the state of Maryland is provided nutritious fruits and vegetables. Partnering with industry leaders in the Netherlands and our local farming community, we will institute a Farm Technology program that will create one of the most successful agricultural revolutions in the United States. With the utilization of farm technology, we will be able to produce excessive amounts of food for not only our local schools, but also for our citizens. Jason is also passionate about technology investment to reduce and even eliminate carbon in the atmosphere. He is introducing legislation to utilize carbon recapture methodologies to reduce our atmospheric abundance of CO2 to preindustrial levels. Learn more
We would like to partner with programs to innovate our climate solutions to allow for BioChar facilities to operate in our borders to add needed resources to farmers. We would also like to create a wood vaulting program in the State of Maryland to encourage environmental recycling of carbon which can also be used by family farms to earn revenue. Learn more
Jason is a strong supporter of expansion of Nuclear Energy facilities across Maryland. The Green Energy Renewable Portfolio Standard "RPS" should include the expansion of nuclear power for our State. Calvert County holds the sole Nuclear facility in the State and it produces 40% of the states demand for Power. The requirement of the our State's reliance on purchasing out of state energy has, in part, increased our local expenses for our utility bills. Learn more
Jason would like to add Nuclear Power to our state's "RPS." In addition to that, Jason would advocate the completion of 2-3 additional nuclear facilities throughout our state to assist in our power generation needs as a backup energy supply and means to sell excess energy out of state. Learn more
Mr. Fowler also recognizes that we MUST increase the available housing that is suitable for seniors by passing legislation to require affordable housing minimums when projects are constructed. Jason Fowler wants to ensure that Prince George's, Charles, and Calvert's roads, bridges and infrastructure receive priority in Annapolis. His main objective is to invest in the Southern Maryland Rapid Transit Project which will create a new light rail connecting lower Prince George's and Charles Counties to our DC Metro rail system. Jason is also advocating to connect the tri-county area by replacing infrastructure in need of replacement such as the Thomas Johnson Bridge in Calvert County. Jason will pass legislation that will utilize applications used in Monaco and South Korea that are used to report maintenance projects for our infrastructure needs which will speed up the process of identifying and repairing our cities and streets. Here at the Fowler campaign, we believe that paying your taxes while you have worked should be rewarded. We are advocating to offer a large state tax deduction for seniors who reside in their forever homes in state. Jason Fowler is a strong supporter of paid parental leave. The United States is one of the few developed nations in the world for not offering paid maternity and paternity leave. Jason and his wife Tammy, have three children. The first two months were a huge adjustment for them each time.
