Get StartedI honor our Constitutional promise that all members of our community shall be afforded the rights to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. The historical significance of our Nation's past merging with the changes we are witnessing currently are worth our collective consideration. I am a proud and fierce advocate for the advancement of these promises for our LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, Immigrant, and Neurodivergent communities here in St. Mary's County and nationwide. I promise to always Stand on the Side of Love. Learn more

I believe parents, caregivers, and community members share the responsibility to ensure that each child in our county is offered quality, affordable, safe, and accessible educational experiences that meet developmental, cognitive and emotional needs. Maryland's Constitution guarantees a "thorough and efficient system of free public schools" in Article VIII, Section 1 for all students regardless of citizenship status. As a former public school educator, school counselor, and parent, I support continued funding of our county public schools and libraries. I am also a former homeschooling parent. We have friends who pay tuition to send their children to private schools. I believe that every family has needs that require differentiated learning environments and I respect their right to fund alternative educational opportunities for their child(ren). I also support public trade/career development pathways and higher educational institutions. I know firsthand that choice matters for the wellbeing of all our students in their pursuit of lifelong learning. I promise to listen, learn, and advocate for the various needs that our families bring to the table. Learn more
State insurance (Medicare, Medicaid, Maryland Children's Health Program), private insurance, and concierge plans demonstrate that everyone has varying access and resources available to ensure their personal and family's wellbeing. I believe everyone, regardless of circumstance, should be provided opportunities to accessible and appropriate health and wellbeing services. I pledge to advocate for increased access and maintained funding to support those vulnerable in our community. Learn more
I am a firm believer that housing is health care and a human right. I have spoken to a Commissioner about this issue, who generously took time to teach me about what they have learned from county residents and the budgetary constraints presented. We both agreed on the importance for our neighbors to be afforded opportunities for lower cost rentals and home ownership. We discussed the challenges they are currently facing in negotiating for housing in our rural county, specifically related to land preservation in our agrarian-based economy. While we do profit tremendously from the PAX Naval base, Commissioners, Developers, delegates, and related county commissions are not in agreement about how increasing housing will impact the infrastructural and organizational needs of the county. Every proposed housing unit will require changes to budgets, traffic patterns, roadway and bridge safety & integrity assessments, septic, well and public works installations, not to mention public school impact. State funding must be allocated to St. Mary's County so we can ensure safe and affordable housing is guaranteed to all who choose to call St. Mary's County home. Learn more
