The Great Salt Lake is facing severe shrinkage driven by overuse of upstream water, drought, and rising evaporation rates—creating exposed lakebed that threatens air quality, ecosystems, and Utah’s long‑term water security. Healthcare costs such as ensuring matching funds continue flowing which keeps Medicaid premiums, co-pays, and state-level healthcare costs from rising, protection of hospital funding, and targeted interventions to reduce high medical prices, particularly prescriptions. High prescription drug costs hurt families. I advocate efforts that will lower prescription drug costs, which rose 9-11%. Doing this is essential to ensuring people can access the medications they depend on to stay healthy, productive, and fully engaged in their communities.
