We need to build a resilient local economy through dynamic economic development. Creating jobs is something I’ve done both personally and professionally. It takes elected officials who have signed the front of a paycheck to understand the impact public policies have on job creators and small businesses. Half of all private sector jobs are employed by small businesses, and they generate 44% of all economic activity nationwide. We must protect and support our small businesses. Learn more
I’m conservative, and when I see reckless spending on duplicative services, I know we need to take action. If you have a 30-year mortgage like me, you’ve seen the escrow line-item increase over the years, while your contribution to principle goes down. That is because of tax increases in past years. Now, with proposals for our insurance rates to increase nearly 99%, holding the line on the budget is even more important now. Among my top concerns are;Improving Education in New Hanover County;Reducing Crime; Safe Drinking Water;Support Dynamic Economic Development; and Reduced Spending. Learn more
