This simple strategy employed at the community level and requiring comparatively low resources is proven to reduce crime significantly. More neighbors are more likely to be outside in their yards in communities where this program is implemented, thus creating even safer environments by building relationship among neighbors. Studies show that the health and abundance of neighborhood small businesses in a community directly relate to the health of the community as a whole. We see lower crime, better education statistics, and overall community strength and resilience. Studies also indicate that small businesses help close racial and gender wealth gaps. A thriving middle class is key to a healthy state and is the foundation of our strength. I believe we can do better. Everybody is frustrated with the state of education. Many times, teachers are constrained by regulations that were meant to help them. Students learn in different ways, and sometimes they need a school that caters to their needs. Common sense legislation will support both the teachers and their students as they try to reach their full potential. Learn more
