We need to have our communities be safe and that starts with a full staff of officers. As of March 2026, 50 school districts across the state have seclusion rooms. These need to be outlawed. The 2023 law banning use of these rooms for for students in 3rd grade and below did not go far enough. No one deserves to be put into a padded room that is locked from the outside. Data indicates that 100% of the children placed into these rooms have disabilities. Learn more
Every child deserves a high-quality education no matter where they live. The current funding calculation method between districts needs updating. Each district is not funded equally per student. Our rural school districts receive less funding per student than the schools located closer to the Twin Cities. Money should not be a factor for students to be in youth programs and sports. Expanding Solar energy use. Homeowners and businesses would benefit from being able to have panels on their roofs or their land. We all see the ones in the fields taking over farmland, they don't work properly for very long and are not maintained. Learn more
Because I’ve lived it, I know we need better access to affordable healthcare. We need more providers in rural areas, too. Many of the specialists are an hour plus drive away. We shouldn't have to take off work twice and spend double the time and gas to get the care we need.
