Get StartedThis is not a moment for our party or our leaders to turn their back on queer and trans Californians. As Governor, I will never stop fighting for the LGBTQ community and their rights to healthcare, housing, employment, and the freedom to live however they choose. Learn more
As a single mom of three I understand the challenges families face, and I will deliver free child care for all. Learn more
More than free state tuition, this is a strategy to keep California competitive. We are removing the financial barriers that force students to drop out or move out of our state. When we invest in our students, we are not just giving them a diploma – we are giving them the ability to stay, work, and innovate right here in California. Learn more
As Governor, I will fulfill the forgotten promise of our state: tuition-free college for all Californians. By pairing two years of free community college, which already exists through the California College Promise, with two free years at our UC and CSU campuses, we will create a pathway for a four-year degree tuition-free. I am proud to be endorsed by leading environmental groups like EnviroVoters and the Climate Center Action Fund, who know that I have what it takes to mitigate disasters and protect our planet. Learn more
I will work to accelerate our transition to clean energy by investing in renewable resources like wind, solar, and geothermal, and expanding the grid to support these technologies. Under my governorship, California will be positioned to become the first state to achieve 100% clean energy output, 365 days a year—which will drive down costs and make energy more affordable for Californians. The problem with the current system is that corporations prioritize profit, not patient care – and then they spend millions of dollars to elect the politician in their pocket who will keep it that way. The fiscally responsible thing to do is invest in single payer, which reports estimate it will save California billions in healthcare costs every year. Now, we need a good federal partner who will work with us on this – but we should be laying the groundwork right now to get this done. And as Governor, I will deliver. Learn more
We must build build all sorts of housing for all sorts of people, including more housing for students and workers, for seniors who want to age in living communities or independently, for young and growing families, along with more affordable, income-restricted housing, and interim housing to help unhoused Californians stay sheltered and get the resources they need. As Governor, I will deliver on the housing that our economy and communities need to thrive. Learn more
My homelessness plan focuses on two strategies that California has not adopted: homeless prevention through emergency rental assistance and rapid re-housing, and interim housing that can keep people from being unsheltered, which is itself a risk factor for mental health and substance use problems. Permanent supportive housing remains absolutely necessary, and the state should be putting its own skin in the game through land or other contributions to bring down its cost, but we need to be working to prevent people from needing permanent supportive housing by increasing housing supply, addressing regulations and delays that drive cost, and using prevention tools. If you are not willing to stand up and protect the people who live, work, and worship in your own community, you have no business running for Governor. That’s why I will work with our federal partners to Abolish ICE. Learn more
As Governor, I will launch a Progressive Corporate Tax. This is more than a one time windfall: this is a thoughtful and permanent structural shift that will incentivize businesses to invest their revenues in paying workers and expanding operations. Learn more
We also need to grow our child care workforce. The best way to expand access to care is by ensuring we have a robust workforce. This means paying providers more. New Mexico successfully raised child care wages by 65% in five years, enabling them to deliver care to every child in the state. We must increase provider wages. Additionally, we should provide low-interest loans for child care workers who want to start their own businesses and offer tax credits to employers who provide child care options for their employees. Every family has different care needs and my plan lets families choose what is right for them — free of charge. Learn more
As Governor, I will work to eliminate state income tax for Californians making under 100,000. This will make a tangible difference in the lives of millions of people. By putting thousands of dollars back in low- and middle-income Californians’ pockets, paycheck after paycheck, we can deliver immediate relief for people struggling to get by. Learn more
Unions give workers opportunities to thrive and to stand together to demand better from employers. Unions are why Californians for generations were able to buy a home, pay the bills, and raise a family. But that is getting harder and harder today because costs keep going up. As Governor, I will work to drive down the cost of housing, healthcare, and child care for all Californians. Learn more
