Living up to this commitment needs to mean not just protecting our most vulnerable residents from harmful policies and practices, it needs to mean working extra hard to be a city where people find a sense of belonging and support, especially our most vulnerable folks. Olympia adopted a great road map to how we help our local economy thrive when we adopted our Olympia Strong plan. I will help put that plan to work by bringing together our public and private partners, higher education institutions, economic development professionals, non-profits, and community leaders to find ways our City can boost and leverage their work. Additionally, revenue growth is key to stabilizing our city’s budget. Thriving businesses create jobs, add tax revenues, and drive tourist opportunities. I want to help create an environment that is supportive to our fantastic local businesses and attractive to folks looking to start or relocate their business in this region. Learn more
Olympia is a regional leader in committing resources and implementing practices to sustain our natural environment. I want to continue pushing for close cooperation among all of our local cities, Thurston County, the Squaxin Island Tribe, and our state representatives to keep driving (and funding) the ambitious goals that we have laid out.
