First, we’re decades behind where we need to be on building housing locally. Simply put, to make housing more affordable, we’ve got to build more housing. That starts with eliminating Trump’s tariffs on imported construction products, which are crushing our ability to expand the housing pool locally. We also must make it more affordable for Americans to access the skills training they need to fill critical gaps in our workforce in specific industries, especially health care and social work, construction and transportation, leisure and hospitality and wholesale and retail trade industries. I’ll support the PRO Act and fight to ban right-to-work laws. I’ll also support legislation to create a federal prevailing wage framework that can be implemented regardless of state-specific prevailing wage laws, and I’ll strengthen laws that protect a worker’s right to form a union and federal enforcement laws that allow workers to fight back against retaliatory employer actions.
