Too many hardworking families are living paycheck to paycheck and young people are leaving the state in search of better opportunities. Small businesses — the backbone of our local economy — are being squeezed by high taxes, regulations, and worker shortages and too many of our neighbors are being left behind, facing barriers to affordable housing, childcare, and healthcare. My goal is to help rebuild the foundation of opportunity that Rhode Island was once known for. These issues directly impact South County, where residents and the coastal economy are affected by rising costs, potential environmental impacts of offshore wind, and grid instability. One of my top priorities is tackling Rhode Island’s energy problems with honesty, balance, and long-term vision. For too long, our state has faced rising utility costs, unreliable infrastructure, and a lack of leadership willing to make practical changes. Families are struggling to keep up with electric bills, small businesses are squeezed by high energy expenses, and too much of our power still depends on out-of-state sources. We need to fix that by modernizing our grid, andsupporting innovation that lowers costs while protecting our environment.
