She is a life-long supporter of women’s right to an abortion, birth control, and all reproductive health care. She is one of the lead sponsors of the Women’s Health Protection Act, which would ensure access to abortion in every state. While the United States had the strongest recovery in the world after the pandemic, there are still some residual affects that have driven up some costs. Lois has been supporting legislation to lower costs for families, reducing inflation, continue creating good paying jobs, and more. Lois knows that the economy does not function without women, but unfortunately, many women are kept from their careers due to lack of affordable childcare. She has fought to increase funding for childcare for working parents, increased wages, and pay equity throughout her time in Congress. Learn more
Lois knows that a good education can open up a lifetime of opportunities. Through her position on the Appropriations Committee, she has consistently supported increased funding for all education, especially early childhood education. She also supports programs to make college more affordable, as well as the Biden Administration’s actions to reduce student loan debt. Learn more
Lois has been a consistent advocate for security assistance to help the Jewish state defend herself from the many threats in the region, especially after the horrific October 7th attack by Hamas. She has been a leading voice of condemning the use of sexual violence by Hamas, calling for the immediate release of hostages, and supporting assistance to Israel and innocent civilians in Gaza. Lois helped pass the largest infrastructure funding bill in the past 50 years, securing billions of dollars for our state and Palm Beach County. This law will not only rebuild our roads and bridges, but will create a greener future by constructing a national electric vehicle charging system, making huge investments in green energy like solar and wind, and providing tens of millions of people with clean water. Here in South Florida, many of our neighbors and relatives rely on Social Security and Medicare. Our seniors have spent their entire lives contributing to these programs and they deserve to know that Social Security and Medicare will be there for them when they retire. Lois believes that access to good quality affordable health care is essential for all Americans.
