We must also attract and retain medical students, doctors, nurses, assistants, EMTS, and other healthcare professionals through staffing minimums, overtime protections, and wage increases across the board. New Mexico should aim to own every hospital in the state, ensuring remote hospitals will never lose funding, and to guarantee our hospitals are provided every tool they need to treat New Mexicans.
