I will encourage the construction and development of housing by using the power of State government to eliminate obstacles and create attractive and viable options for developers. I will also work with local units of government to review zoning and other restrictions to ensure we have the maximum opportunity for meeting housing needs. My plan is to partner with the private sector to take the steps necessary to make it economically viable for these services to be brought to and/or expanded in Northeast Michigan. Strategies include availing public land for siting cell towers, public investment in the infrastructure for internet and cell services, as well as tax incentives. It is my goal to ensure there is no place in Northeast Michigan that is without cell phone service or access to broadband by 2024. Learn more
