Get StartedI believe strongly in the right to control our bodies and our future; this includes the right to have children, the right to not have children, and the right to parent the children we have in safe and sustainable communities. Learn more
Access to healthcare and support for reproductive rights are matters of basic human dignity. Learn more
I am keenly aware that mass incarceration is not effective. It is expensive and does not create outcomes that positively impact our community. I am in favor of policies that shift funding away from incarceration, especially privatized prisons. Our resources are better allocated toward early childhood education and support, social systems that support families, schools, expanding youth services, and housing. Instead of prisons, our funds are better allocated toward therapy, counseling, and reintroduction to society. Learn more
I will work to pass budgets that de-emphasize outside vendor contracts and no-bid contracts. I will seek to emphasize social-emotional support and learning in public schools, such as placing full-time social workers, guidance counselors, and psychologists in schools. I will also support the roles of physical education, music, art teachers, and sports in every school. I will advocate for a budget that covers the real cost of educating a child, including fair compensation for teachers and staff, appropriate class sizes, transportation, special education services, and student support. We cannot rely on only fossil fuels to support our energy needs. Ohio needs to invest in a greater array of energy as demand rises for electricity and infrastructure. Industry and economic growth cannot come at the expense of the environment. Finally, I will support measures that seek to protect our public lands from exploitation, especially from profit-first companies. Learn more
I also support universal background checks as well as Red Flag Laws and waiting periods for gun purchases to reduce gun access to children and those who are struggling with their mental health. Learn more
I support single-payer healthcare and believe healthcare should be a public, not a private, good. As a State Representative, I will work tirelessly to support policies that put individuals ahead of company profit, including policies that address the current, unacceptable healthcare system. As a State Representative, I will introduce a bill that will require landlords to provide a ledger and lease agreement when initiating an eviction proceeding. Not all jurisdictions in Ohio require this, and I find that unacceptable. It denies residents their right to due process and makes it difficult for them to defend themselves. Learn more
While immigration policies are set at the federal level, I still want neighbors to know that I believe in welcoming, just, and safe, humane migration. I support pro-immigrant policies that strengthen communities and honor human dignity. I believe in creating welcoming, dignified, and just immigration policies, not needlessly placing more people in cages and inhumane conditions. I share the growing concern of increased policing in our communities under the guise of immigration enforcement and I strongly condemn turning soldiers inward on our neighbors. It threatens our democracy. Learn more
I support a progressive income tax code. This ensures that the burden is proportionately shared amongst Ohioans, rather than a heavier burden being placed on middle and low income Ohioans. Trickle-down economics doesn’t work. Decades of research prove this. We can properly fund the services that sustain healthier communities and a better society by taxing higher income earners more. They can afford it while maintaining wealth. Working families cannot Learn more
Our minimum wage has lagged behind inflation for far too long. I strongly support measures that would increase the minimum wage. An inflation-adjusted minimum wage would be $24 per hour. Learn more
