As an education attorney, I will bring my subject matter expertise and passion for helping students to the School Board. As an example, the COVID-19 pandemic has meant that our students are experiencing significant mental health challenges. I recognize that as an equity issue, which means we need teachers and staff who are trained to navigate the intense difficulties of this moment. Learn more

To support our students, I commit to improve District oversight of the Title IX office at BUSD to ensure stable staffing and a reliable complaint process. Learn more

Young minds need the right tools to critically analyze the social and political complexities of modern American life. A developmentally appropriate Ethnic Studies k-12 curriculum will give our students the knowledge and skills to understand our complex history and contemporary issues such as a re-emergent White supremacy and the political and economic consequences of increasing income disparities. I am committed to helping BUSD reflect the values of our community, which must include addressing investment in public education, issues of discrimination, and the problem of sexual harassment and violence. Learn more
