Get StartedSchool safety is paramount. I drop my own children off to these buildings every day. I will work tirelessly to ensure that our buildings continue on the path forward to increased safety and security by seeking to add additional school resource officers in our buildings, by relying on new and innovative technology to keep our children safe, and by improving security measures that are tailored to our district's needs. Supporting our children's mental health is important. I believe in the anti-bullying programs that the district currently implements and in programs such as "See Something Say Something". Learn more
Every child at Revere deserves a top-notch education and to graduate prepared for success on their chosen career path, whether it be college, trade school, the military, or the workforce. We need to ensure that we focus our efforts, including our spending, on enhancing the quality of education at Revere, such as instituting leadership courses that will serve all of our students well and continue the excellence for which Revere is known. One way Revere can build upon the current special education curriculum is to create a cohesive program that begins at the elementary level, teaching students skills that will be built upon yearly, be transferable to the middle school, and ultimately used at the high school where they would have the opportunity to help run a small business, such as a coffee shop within the high school. There are many generous local businesses in our community and beyond with whom our district can collaborate to help facilitate this program. Learn more
I would also propose creating online evaluation forms, suggestion boxes, and surveys and making them part of monthly Board meeting minutes to ensure that we prioritize community feedback. Learn more
I believe in fostering an open-door policy at Revere where parents, families, and the community at all times feel welcome to connect with members of our administration and, in turn, the administration commits to frequent, dependable, and honest dialogue with families. Learn more
I would propose publishing a monthly Board of Education newsletter (created in-house) to keep all of our stakeholders informed about initiatives, decisions, and spending. It's wonderful that we currently record the Board meetings and post them to the school website; however, a newsletter would provide a quick and efficient way to create additional transparency and access. Life is busy, and I believe that a newsletter emailed to all of our families, staff, and made available digitally for our community would create an additional opportunity to enhance community engagement, promote trust, and better familiarize our stakeholders with the inner workings of the district. It is imperative to the future of Revere to maintain district fiscal responsibility. We are a well-funded district, considered high-wealth by the state’s funding formula, but I don’t think we can ever become lax and make decisions that take for granted our wonderful taxpayers. We need to maximize the plentiful resources that we have when possible before turning to costly outside alternatives. One way we can do that is to eliminate wasteful spending by performing district services in-house and avoiding high-fee consultants. Learn more
