Get StartedAs District Attorney, I will continue to support court-ordered treatment programs that prioritize treatment over incarceration and allow individuals the opportunity to address their underlying issues. These programs do work, and I have personally witnessed many success stories. However, when repeat offenders demonstrate that they will continue to victimize our community, I believe we should respond by seeking prison sentences that remove them from the streets—thereby keeping our homes and businesses safe. Addressing crime requires a balanced approach. Different cases require different solutions. Sometimes the best outcome for the victim, defendant, and the community is found by pursuing treatment over jail time. Other times, a prison sentence is necessary to remove dangerous and repeat offenders from our community and deter them in the future. Learn more
Community well-being comes first. Individuals, families, and businesses prosper when we all feel safe. This is accomplished by working collaboratively with law enforcement, mental health agencies, and other community partners. Together, we make informed decisions that improve the quality of life for everyone. Learn more
I will advocate for the repeal and replacement of Measure 110, which has further fueled our homelessness crisis. We must demand a better solution that offers leniency for individuals who engage in treatment, and returns meaningful consequences for those who refuse to. Learn more
A person should not be defined by their worst day. On appropriate cases, diversion or alternative sentencing that requires treatment and counseling promotes accountability, while still giving someone a chance to put their mistakes behind them—keeping them out of the system, now and in the future. Domestic violence cases are often difficult because there are many reasons victims don’t want to cooperate—whether it’s fear, finances, children, or even pressure from other family members. I will work to implement a county-wide law enforcement task force that investigates domestic violence crimes, working together to overcome the challenges, offer support to victims, and hold perpetrators accountable. Jackson County will be a state-wide leader on this issue. Learn more
As District Attorney, I will be committed to our partnership with our local law enforcement, including the Medford Area Drug and Gang Enforcement (MADGE) team and the Illegal Marijuana Enforcement Team (IMET). We will continue working together to catch drug dealers, eradicate illegal marijuana grows, and pursue penalties against those responsible—removing them from our community. Learn more
