Get StartedAs your state senator, I will fight tooth and nail against any bill limiting Pennsylvanians’ access to reproductive healthcare. Learn more
Our state leaders must also take serious action to provide relieve to Pennsylvanians drowning in student loan debt. Besides reforming PHEAA as I discuss here, the legislature should design new, innovative programs to provide debt relief. For example, last year House Democrats proposed a bill that would exempt tuition reimbursement provided by employers from state income tax. Learn more
In his 2024 budget address, Gov. Shapiro proposed capping tuition at all public universities at 1,000 per semester for any Pennsylvanian earning up to the median income. The state legislature never took up this idea, and it was not discussed in either the 2025 budget crisis or the governor’s most recent 2026 budget proposal. The state legislature must finally take action to implement this cap, making higher education accessible to more Pennsylvanians. Learn more
We also need to invest in existing and new public-private partnerships that provide continued skills training to those already in the workforce, as well as funding for apprenticeships and other direct pathways to employment. Learn more
Even better, the state could make all student loan repayments tax-exempt, by deducting a borrower’s loan payments from their taxable income. The state provides tax exemptions and tax credits to giant multinational corporations all the time – it is time for our leaders to extend that same helping hand to our neighbors who desperately need it. Learn more
Pennsylvania should take a three-pronged approach to career & technical education (CTE), building cohesive secondary, postsecondary, and continuing education programs. Our state leaders must focus on designing more accessible and modern CTE programs both in our public high schools and our public universities and community colleges. Learn more
As your state senator, I will finally take action to protect us and future generations from polluting oil and gas corporations. I will also protect our neighbors who work in the oil and gas industry from the negligence of their own employers. Learn more
In February 2026, a federal judge ruled that the law is constitutional, and that a state is within its rights to require federal agents to properly identify themselves, as long as local and state police are bound by the same requirements. The Pennsylvania General Assembly should pass legislation imposing the same identification requirement. Learn more
Pennsylvania must pass legislation prohibiting individuals and corporations that receive state contracts from donating to political campaigns, either directly or indirectly through a PAC associated with the corporation. Learn more
Seven states currently prohibit lobbyists from donating, and PA must join them. Learn more
Pennsylvania must enact commonsense limits to campaign contributions. Learn more
Pennsylvania must establish strong disclosure rules for all forms of campaign spending, including independent expenditures. Learn more
Pennsylvania must join the rest of the country and prohibit elected officials from accepting gifts, so that we can be sure that their votes are intended to serve their constituents, not their own pocketbook. Learn more
Our communities need state leadership in designing and implementing a cohesive strategy to return these vacant and blighted properties to the housing market as affordable options for both ownership and rent. Learn more
I look forward to working with local housing and labor leaders to identify additional ways to fight back against the encroachments of out-of-state corporate landlords. Learn more
Six states have prohibited local law enforcement agencies from entering into cooperative agreements with ICE. Under these agreements, local police departments provide additional manpower and other resources like detention spaces during ICE operations. The six states are New Jersey, Connecticut, Illinois, California, Oregon, and Washington. I implore Gov. Shapiro and our state leaders to do the same and prohibit any Pennsylvanian law enforcement agency from taking part in these illegal and wantonly dangerous operations. Learn more
Pennsylvania must prohibit ICE from accessing state databases without a judicial warrant. Learn more
Pennsylvania must prohibit its state prisons from detaining individuals at the request of ICE without a judicial warrant. Learn more
Pennsylvania must prohibit its State Police from providing any support to ICE operations. Learn more
As your state senator, I will finally prioritize people over profit and protect our communities from the state-sponsored profiteering of data center companies. Learn more
I support the PA Fairness Act, which would amend the PA Human Relations Act (PHRA) to include explicit, statutory protections from discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression. This act would protect LGBTQ people from being denied housing, education, or access to public accommodations because of who they are. Learn more
Extending prevailing wage laws to all forms of government spending. Learn more
Extending unemployment compensation (UC) benefits to striking workers. Learn more
Since the federal minimum wage increased to 7.25 in 2009, all of Pennsylvania’s neighbors have raised their minimum wage. The last other hold-outs were West Virginia and Maryland in 2014. As your state senator, I will work to bring home the oldest promise of the Democratic Party: a raise. Learn more
Prohibiting employers from suspending healthcare benefits during a work stoppage. Learn more
