Get StartedWhen I think about the small towns and rural landscape of District 60, I think first of our farmers. These families, who have been farming for generations, deserve a fair shot at making a living. Costs keep climbing while prices and demand for crops remain far too low. Government policies and other factors have caused the markets to sink to historical lows. Due to this, emergency subsidies and bailouts are now needed. Looking to the future, I know our farmers aren’t just asking for handouts. What they want is a fair playing field—one where they can keep their costs down, compete, and sell their crops at a fair price. We also need to continue to grow our communities by investing in small businesses to help them remain competitive and to nurture new industry. We want to keep our young people in our communities, and to do so, we must create more opportunities for them. It seems there are some in office that don’t care about rural school districts & their importance to small towns. I assure you that I do. Learn more

Many rely on Medicare and Medicaid, and these programs must be protected and strengthened—not weakened. Too many rural clinics and hospitals are closing. I know firsthand how broken our health care system can feel. As the primary caregiver for my husband during his fight with cancer and for my son who had a seizure disorder and battled drug addiction, I spent hours navigating insurance red tape. No one in America should have to choose between their health and financial survival. In a nation as great as ours, it is unacceptable for life-saving care to be out of reach for so many. Learn more
