Get StartedI believe in the sanctity of life. As a mother, being pro-life is a matter of principle. As a Nurse Practitioner and teacher, birth control must be made available and we need to educate people on how to prevent unwanted pregnancies in the first place. As an exemption, I believe that abortion should be allowed if the mother’s health is at risk and in cases of rape or incest. Learn more
I have always been a firm believer in the free market. Let it run its course, and you end up with an economy that works for all. That is not to say that government should remove itself completely. It plays very important roles in ensuring everyone is playing by the same set of rules. However, the more you restrict that market, the more you restrict success. I will fight for a low-tax, pro-growth economy here in Wisconsin because that is how we grow and thrive. Wisconsin must continue to be open for business. Learn more
Parents deserve to have a say in their child’s education. That is why I supported a “Parent’s Bill of Rights” and will continue to advocate for it. We must also continue with strong investments in our schools. However, that does not mean throwing money at something and turning the other way. I will fight for increases in the education budget so long as student outcomes show a return on investment, because this state needs to continue the top-tier education it currently provides. Investing in education now paves a path to a successful future, which benefits all of us. Learn more
Being an independent practitioner, I do more than just talk the talk when it comes to medical transparency & accountability. For years, I have listed every service my office provides and placed the prices right next to them. This is something that can and should be implemented statewide on a bipartisan basis. I also will continue fighting medical fraud in the legislature just as I have done in the private sector. Kickbacks and upcharging for services have no place in a field that should be focused on helping people. Lastly, mental health services will be one of my top priorities so that those struggling with mental illnesses are not suffering in isolation. Learn more
Our interstates, airports, and roads are vital to Wisconsin’s economy. Whether it be supporting Appleton International Airport or the Agricultural Roads Improvement Program, I am continuing to advocate for both local and statewide improvements to our infrastructure. Wisconsin can have the best roads, bridges, and airports in the country. As we continue to see new ways people are moving goods and services, we must also continue to innovate and re-balance our transportation budget. Learn more
I live by this principle: people know best how to spend their money, not the government. Republicans in the legislature have been fighting hard to make reducing the tax burden a priority, and I will continue that fight as your state senator. Fiscal responsibility is key to ensuring a successful future. Learn more
We as a society should not look down on those seeking public assistance, because for many it is their last resort. However, welfare abuse is something we cannot tolerate nor afford. The welfare system needs reform. It should be a top priority that we make it a trampoline instead of a safety net. For those who are able-bodied and of working age, our welfare system should work it’s hardest to get them off of assistance and into a meaningful career. One way to do so is through vocational training for those willing to go through that program. Not only will there be paid training programs and a family-supporting job available, but this could also help close the skills gap that so many employers have been concerned about for the past few decades. Balancing budgets is something I do every day both as a mother and a business owner. I am pleased to see Republicans in this state have achieved surpluses over and over despite efforts to errode that success. I will continue fighting for balanced budgets in the state legislature and work with my colleagues to avoid turning Wisconsin into Washington. Learn more
