Get StartedIt's essential that we do everything we can to serve the needs of Veterans and homeowners in our State. We must work on housing, communities, services, and access to infomation in an interconnected way. I am committed to making progress in California and ensuring the stability of our communities. I know that we can use the tools of government to help our Veterans, seniors, people living with disabilities, and small businesses in ways that are meaningful and easy to access. During my tenure on the State Board of Equalization, I have worked with the Legislature to move toward the best outcomes for all Californians, and I will continue to do so in my next term. Learn more
The climate crisis is an existential threat for California. It’s essential that every government agency work together to do everything in our power to become more sustainable and identify opportunities to slow climate destruction and stave off its worst effects. Protection of greenbelt areas are essential to avoid sprawl and gain the positive environmental benefits that open and green spaces provide. If not ameliorated, climate destruction will impact local communities, property values, and the financial stability of our State. We can't let that happen. I will continue to work as hard as I can to ensure that effective strategies are pursued and that our communities are protected. Learn more
It's essential that our state agencies, including the Board of Equalization are fully staffed with highly trained personnel that are fully ready to help taxpayers resolve any issue that they are facing. Recruitment and training of future staff that will meet the needs of taxpayers is a vital priority. Working with our colleges and universities, we must ensure that we are preparing and recruiting the next generation of staff leaders that can continue a tradition of excellence and a high level of responsiveness. Due to term limits, I will be the only Boardmember that is eligible for re-election. As such, I will work hard to continue this work, forge connections with our local governments, ensure that voter approved housing funds are used wisely, and stay on track to achieve housing that is affordable, linked to transit, childcare, neighborhood-serving retail, parks, and other essentials. I will work to ensure that we have a broader diversity of housing providers for families and individuals experiencing homelessness or housing instability, and that we seek out new models from other states and jurisdictions that are proven to produce stable housing that is affordable and safe. Use of our State's tax credits must be transparent, sustainable and fair. Learn more
It's essential that our state agencies are transparent and accountable. To that end, I am running a corporate-free campaign. At the agency level, we must work to constantly enhance the information available, address frequently asked questions thoroughly, pursue problem-solving on behalf of taxpayers and ensure that information is accessible and usable.
