The regulatory apparatus we have set up is not conducive to reliability, and the regulatory environment including subsidies for wind and solar has produced a crazy quilt of special interests, none of whom have the Texas consumer and reliability in mind. The future condition I least desire is drained aquifers, drained by pumping large amounts of groundwater from underneath rural Texans and piping it away to subsidize suburban development. Learn more
My approach to representing the people of the district on these issues is to stop the truly damaging activities that cannot be mitigated like the dumping of "compost" on an industrial scale in the beautiful country, while making sure we have tools to insure that development is done in a way that respects the neighbors. Legislation is also needed to give more tools to county judges and commissioners to insure that growth is done in a way that does not degrade the quality of life of those already here. Learn more
Working at a state level on sound money initiatives like currency choice, allowing ordinary Texans to shield themselves from the declining value of the dollar. Learn more
Eliminate taxpayer services to illegals, thereby reducing demand for housing, cutting spending, and enabling tax cuts. Learn more
One thing I think a state rep should do is to vote down all state level subsidies to corporations that turbocharge growth. Organic growth is one thing. Using our tax dollars to turbocharge it is something else. Learn more
